Role Summary:

This job is based at our manufacturing site in Lockerbie, working to manage our current maintenance team. We are looking for someone with technical expertise, problem-solving skills and the desire to make significant improvements across site.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Day to day management of the maintenance team.
  • Manage projects engaging with key internal and external stakeholders including contractors, regulators, enforcement agencies, and suppliers
  • Create and maintain a PPM system
  • Identify the most cost-effective sources for consumables and services used for maintaining the site.
  • Promoting a strong health and safety culture on site and driving best practice providing assistance and support with; risk assessments and safe working procedures; incident reporting and investigations; developing, implementing, and maintaining the Integrated Management System; familiarity and ability to evaluate contractor risk assessments and method statements (RAMs)
  • Ensure that there is sufficient support to the production and warehouse teams with break downs.
  • To maintain the building, facilities and plant as scheduled.
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs to the building, grounds and equipment as required.
  • Complete routine, emergency and specialised repairs and maintenance as required.


Skills and Experience:

  • Good communication skills and the ability to prioritise and manage time efficiently.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience of successfully running a maintenance team.
  • A tenacious attitude to problem solving and to pro-actively deal with issues.
  • Technical knowledge and/or skills that can be demonstrated by current or past activity in an engineering discipline and validated by a technical qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience and knowledge of managing maintenance for a manufacturing facility covering building, machinery and equipment, utilising both in house and third-party resources.
  • Chemical industry experience would be advantageous, especially where the primary means of manufacture is via liquid filling.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Calm, approachable, personable, punctual, and professional manner.
  • Solution focused approach to confidently resolve queries and problems.
  • Ability to be flexible and understanding.
