We are now recruiting for a Machine Operator to join us on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Shift Manager this role will ensure that we achieve our business goals across DS Smith packaging.

Key Accountabilities:
- Be accountable for own and others health and safety whilst at work, operating in line with SSOW (safe systems of work) and company procedures to enable a safe working environment.- Raise any unsafe acts seen immediately with individual(s) concerned and immediate reporting of health and safety incidents to management- Be responsible for the operation of machinery to ensure efficiencies are maximised and downtime is minimised.- Achieve set productivity and performance targets ensuring consistent quality standards are met.- To ensure that maintenance and cleaning tasks are carried out correctly and in line with the planned maintenance schedule. Support and assist with improvement initiatives

Hours of work:
- Shifts pattern is a 3 shift rotation pattern of backshift, early shift and nightshift.

Experience and Key Attributes required:
- Experience of working in a production/machine operating environment- Self-motivated with a can-do attitude- Enthusiasm to join our expanding team- The drive to rise to challenges and good problem solving abilities- The desire to progress within a Company that values its employees and puts safety first- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written- Experience: 1 year (preferred)
