Overview: My client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Procurement Compliance Manager. This role involves the design, development, modification, and implementation of comprehensive procurement compliance programs. The successful candidate will ensure our adherence to various legal requirements, including those outlined in the EU Net Zero Act (such as CBAM and EUDR), as well as regulations pertaining to ethics, competition law, modern slavery, human rights, and conflict minerals.


Key Responsibilities:


Compliance Program Development and Implementation:

  • Design, develop, and implement procurement compliance programs to ensure legal compliance.
  • Collaborate with functional owners across different departments to create new and improve existing programs (e.g., Finance regarding Plastic Tax).

Project Management:

  • Manage group-wide compliance projects, particularly those originating from EMEA region legislation.
  • Facilitate the adoption of digital and IT systems for automation (e.g., Satelligence).
  • Participate actively in regional legislative change projects (e.g., US Deforestation Act).

Training and Awareness:

  • Develop and deliver training programs to support the implementation and awareness of compliance programs.
  • Work with subject matter experts to educate employees and third-party partners through both online and face-to-face sessions.

Control Systems Development:

  • Develop and enhance control systems to manage due diligence.
  • Evaluate the efficiency of existing controls and implement improvements as needed.

Risk Assessment and Regulatory Monitoring:

  • Assess the business's future strategy and focus to identify potential compliance risks.
  • Stay updated on regulatory developments and evolving best practices, both internally and externally.

EUDR Due Diligence Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of EUDR Due Diligence and DDSN generation.

Global Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the procurement and PRSA teams globally to ensure regulatory compliance across the supply chain.

Issue Resolution and Audit Support:

  • Conduct root cause analyses and corrective actions for any compliance issues.
  • Ensure immediate implementation of remedial work and escalate as necessary.
  • Serve as the primary contact for internal and external audits.

Data Management:

  • Maintain robust data records in line with the latest legislative frameworks.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in procurement compliance or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of EU Net Zero Act, EUDR, and other relevant regulations.
  • Experience in managing compliance projects and implementing digital solutions.
  • Excellent communication and training skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various departments and teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in maintaining detailed records and documentation.
