We are looking for a Risk Manager to join our successful Risk team.
Role and Responsibilities:
The role of Risk Manager is to provide a service to customers of Inspired PLC as well as internal stakeholders, who purchase energy supply requirement via a Flexible Purchasing product. The primary objective of the role is to assist customers in managing their energy purchasing, either by developing purchasing strategies with the customer, or by implementing purchasing strategies on behalf of the customer. As it is a senior role in the business, the expectation is that you will also support the Managing Director on an array of commercial projects and decisions.
What will you be doing?
- Regular face to face meetings with customers to discuss performance and hedging strategy.
- Creating strategies and frameworks to deliver customers strategic objectives.
- Provide in depth market intelligence for relevant commodities.
- Liaison with the various divisions in Inspired PLC to support on delivering risk objectives.
- Provide input and analysis into the development of new products.
- Monitor customer hedging performance and develop and improve reporting.
- Understand end-to-end product lifecycle from pricing to billing.
- Manage operational and regulatory risks, escalating as appropriate.
- Ensure information systems are operated to the required standard to maintain accurate and secure records.
Key Requirements:
- Be required to have Gas, Power and relevant industry knowledge.
- Able to operate at C-suite with customers.
- Have a High numerical ability with analytical capability and a strong academic background.
- Have a good understanding of risk management analysis, probability, statistics and quantitative analysis.
- Be familiar with analysing large and complex data sets across multiple databases/sources.
- Possess advanced skills and experience of Energy Trading and Risk Management System experience.
- Highly resilient, with considerable experience and evidence building strong relationships, interacting and engaging at all levels.
- Demonstrate proven time management and stakeholder management skills with confidence and gravitas.
- Proven ability in working with very large, complex spreadsheets and databases .
- Have a logical, analytical and pragmatic approach to problem solving.
- Experience of change management.
- Be able to work with different teams in order to co-deliver solutions.
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills and be a good team worker, as this role will require working with a wide variety of people in all levels across the business.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Essential
- Energy industry experience
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel essential)
- Minimum 5 GCSE’s A-C grade including Maths and English
Desirable
- Degree level educated in a science or mathematical or economic discipline
