Michelle Denny Recruitment are again working alongside a manufacturing company located on the Norfolk/Suffolk border in Diss. We are collaborating with them to find an experienced person to fill the newly created role of Technical Manager.


Our client are a leading, innovative, and forward-thinking company in the plastic manufacturing industry. They specialise in designing and producing high-quality plastic injection-moulded products for a diverse range of industries. Their commitment to excellence, cutting-edge technology, and dedicated team have positioned them as a leader in the field. They are now seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Manager to join the growing team and help shape the future of the company.


The client are offering a relocation package, of up to £10,000 for the ideal candidate, wherever they may reside in the UK.


KEY FACTORS:


The role will require hands on skills, and a high degree of literacy and numeracy with a capability of generating reports for internal and external assessment. This role will include supplier management (toolmakers, material supplier etc) and has an element of customer facing communication, so good commercial and financial awareness are essential.


Technical Expertise: Provide technical support to Production and Quality departments, and provide tech input in the preparation of quotations, liaising with the customer, toolmaker and suppliers.


Project Development: Actively generate and implement projects to improve the cost effectiveness of the business, ensuring that products are delivered on time and within budget.


Process Optimisation: Continuously improve and streamline manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and quality, minimising waste and costs.


Quality Control: Develop and maintain rigorous quality control standards to ensure the highest product quality and consistency.


Innovation: Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, implementing new methods and materials to keep Merit Plastic Mouldings at the forefront of plastic moulding innovation.


Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including Quality and Production


IDEAL EXPERIENCE:

  • A degree in Engineering or related field will be advantageous
  • Proven experience in a technical leadership role, preferably in plastic manufacturing or related industries
  • Strong knowledge of plastic moulding processes and associated technologies
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate technical personnel effectively
