National Account Manager – Grocery Channel

MacGregor Black are partnering with a leading Sports & Fashion business on the search for a National Account Manager – Grocery Channel based in Manchester.


As the National Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with key supermarket and grocery retailers. Your goal is to drive sales growth and aid the ongoing growth trajectory of the business.


Key Responsibilities


  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in supermarket and grocery retail accounts to drive sales and brand loyalty.
  • Develop and execute tailored sales strategies that align with the overall business objectives, focusing on maximizing revenue and market share.
  • Create and implement comprehensive account plans for each key retailer, identifying growth opportunities, promotional strategies, and potential challenges.
  • Lead negotiations on pricing, promotional activities, and contractual agreements to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Monitor sales performance metrics and analyze market trends to provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, logistics, and product development, to ensure alignment on initiatives and optimize account performance.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to inform strategic decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on account performance, market developments, and growth opportunities.


What are we looking for?


  • Proven experience (5+ years) in account management within FMCG, Consumer Goods or Sport/Fashion. Sport/Fashion not essential.
  • Strong understanding of the supermarket and grocery retail landscape.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and market trends to drive decision-making.
  • Results-oriented with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Self motivating and inspiring personality
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally on a regular basis


There is an on-site working policy when not on the road visiting accounts.
