Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire procurement process, from identifying suppliers and negotiating contracts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring a consistent and reliable supply of materials.
  • Source and negotiate competitive pricing for materials and services, while ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Oversee the implementation and management of procurement policies and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date on market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Work closely with internal departments, such as production, engineering, and finance, to ensure procurement activities align with overall business goals.
  • Manage and motivate a team of procurement professionals
  • Create accurate forecasts to optimise the supply chain against demand and trends.
  • Conduct suppliers reviews on cost and performance and identify areas for improvement, working alongside the Procurement Director.
  • Some overseas and UK travel will be required to visit suppliers.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a procurement or purchasing role.
  • Proven track record of successfully negotiating and managing supplier contracts.
  • Strong understanding of procurement best practices and cost-saving techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with experience of managing a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
