We’re looking for a Head of Brand to join our team and drive two strategic objectives:


  1. Make Bone Broth Big


The European bone broth category is in its infancy compared to the USA, but that's changing rapidly.

Bone broth is increasingly being recognised not just as a natural alternative to stock cubes, or as a functional food, but also as an effective solution to a whole host of health concerns.


Freja wants to educate people about the nourishing and rejuvenating power of bone broth, positioning it as the original superfood and the foundation of daily nutrition.

  1. Make Freja Famous


Freja was always destined to be a brand legend (after all, we’re named after the Norse goddess of love, war and bone broth :) so it’s hard to believe that our name and visual identity are only 12 months old following a rebrand in summer 2023.


We’ve already achieved widespread recognition within our core customer demographic, and we’re heading towards ‘household brand’ status.

Core responsibilities:


Marketing Leadership


  • Work with the Founders to define Freja’s brand development and customer strategy
  • Plan, execute and measure Freja’s brand marketing activities
  • Collaborate with Growth and Retail teams to ensure a consistent multi-channel approach
  • Recruit, develop and retain a high performing team (brand marketing, social media, content studio)


Content & Storytelling


  • Craft and maintain a consistent brand voice and messaging that can be used across the business
  • Plan and maintain our comms plan building on key consumer dates, campaign plans, product launches and trading requirements
  • Ensure a high quality and high volume of content across all channels, from Meta ads to website recipes


Brand Activation


  • Create a best-in-class organic social media operation for reach, education and conversion
  • Develop our PR and influencer marketing and ambassador plans
  • Build out sponsored partnerships across the full media mix
  • Create physical activation opportunities, from events to product sampling to PR stunts


What we are looking for:


The ideal candidate for this role will be a high energy, scrappy brand marketer, who knows what it takes for an emerging challenger brand to make a big impression with consumers and wider industry stakeholders.


You’ll probably be a bit of a marketing geek who has studied some of the successful challenger brand strategies and tactics and tried them out yourself, with some successes on your CV (spending VC money on Meta ads doesn’t count) You’ll have at least 5 years relevant experience and currently be at “Head of” or “Senior Manager” level in a similar brand.


You’ll have a flair for words, an eye for good design and a meticulous attention to detail. Brand is the intersection between our business and our customer, and whilst we don’t mind testing ideas and taking risks, there is no room for sloppy execution.


We’re a remote-first business, which means you’ll need to be a self-starter who owns their work, over-communicates and knows how to manage projects effectively using digital tools. People management experience is essential, as you’ll be responsible for a team from day one.


You’ll be spending 1-2 days per week in our office in Stroud, so we’ll only consider candidates that live within 90-ish minutes travel from our office (we pay for travel to the office).


Lastly, you must be a genuine consumer of bone broth. We’re a team of bone broth evangelists who truly care about our mission to Nourish the World, and you can’t build a brand unless you live and breathe the product.
