I have an excellent opportunity for a Head of IT for a Global manufacturing company based on the outskirts of London. The company prides itself on innovation and best practice and is seen as a market leader within its sector.

Overview

As Head of IT lead the Group IT function and:-

  • Ensure the Group’s IT operations are secure, stable, resilient and robust
  • Maximise the efficiency of the Group’s enterprise systems and utilise technology to implement innovative IT solutions which generate revenue and/or reduce costs for the Group.


The Role:

People

  • Draft and lead the Group IT strategy.
  • Manage, motivate, and develop your team to implement and achieve the Group IT strategy
  • Engage effectively with stakeholders at Group and each subsidiary such as General Managers and IT operational leads

IT Operations

· Ensure the Group’s IT operations are secure and run smoothly on a day-to-day basis

· Ensure operational resilience through IT risk management and governance

· Harden the Group’s IT infrastructure & operations to minimise the risk & impact of a cyber attack

· Purchase efficient and cost effective technological systems, equipment & software that meet the needs of the business

· Implement and embed Group IT policies, procedures and systems to meet business objectives

· Work with subsidiary companies to ensure local IT support is at the right capability level, establishing approval and change processes where required

· Manage the Group IT budget

· Ensure IT initiatives and projects are implemented within agreed timescales and budgets


Enterprise Systems

· Maximise the efficiency of the Group’s enterprise systems e.g. Syspro, Microsoft 365, to improve productivity & collaboration

· Maintain and support a high quality ERP system that is cost effective and works for the Group & subsidiaries

Innovative IT Solutions

· Share & embed best practice around the Group

· Analyse the business requirements of subsidiaries to determine their technology needs


The Person

• A proven track record in strategic planning and hands on experience in implementing and managing large scale, multi-site IT

• Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications

• Good technical understanding of computer infrastructure, systems, networks

• A thorough understanding of Microsoft 365 applications

• Basic understanding of MVC, C# , Angular front, MSSQL Database and Redis)

• Microsoft SQL Server and reporting services

• Ability to successfully lead, empower, manage, and develop a team

• Highly effective communicator and collaborator

• Excellent prioritisation & project management skills

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems or a related field

• Hands on & a completer / finisher

• Punctual & approachable


Ideally you will have experience in supporting, maintaining and upgrading ERP systems and ideally 3-5 years in a manufacturing or distribution environment)
