We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our client and supporting their sales in the North England, Midlands and Humberside/Humber Bank areas.


The main purpose of the Business Development Manager role is to establish and retain business opportunities for the On-Site Machining, Bolting and Leak Sealing services within our client's business. Primarily obtaining new clients and fostering business relationships to increase revenue from sales. As part of this role, there may be an element of account management involved however primarily a technical sales business development role.


This role will report to Head of Sales (based in the North West).

Key tasks involved in the role will include (but are not limited to):

  • Maintain and identify new opportunities to achieve financial performance of Business Unit and Group.
  • Develop strategy, tactics, sales plans, and targets for the UK Business.
  • Develop relationships with new and existing clients in the UK.
  • Identify and report on business opportunities in target markets.
  • Ensure Operational Delivery meets Business/Customer needs.
  • Ensure a full understanding of the company's Products and Disciplines in order to promote all areas of service delivery, to ensure growth in Client relationships at all levels.
  • Manage key strategic accounts and partners that are already established.
  • To further develop current client relationships and establish new clients to obtain new work, agreed as per the business plan.
  • To support the development of relationships with key suppliers and partners.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive pipeline of opportunities.
  • Develop and retain positive relationships with new and existing customers and foster positive relationships within the organisation.
  • Deliver an agreed annual individual Company target.
  • Develop, execute, and achieve sales targets and expand client base.
  • Target Industries: Petrochemicals, refineries, power generation and defence


Key Skills, Attributes and Experience:

  • Previous sales or technical sales experience
  • Previous experience in relevant industries and renewables would be advantageous
  • Sales and negotiation skills
  • Commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Strong ability to build long term relationships
  • Confident making new introductions, with a focus on generating meetings
  • Reliable with initiative, drive, and enthusiasm
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent networking skills
