Kier Construction have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Construction Site Manager to join our team aligned with a high value new build healthcare project in Sunderland. This role offers the opportunity to deliver a key new build healthcare facility for the local community in a role that offers long term career development.

Location: Newcastle, Sunderland

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

What will you be responsible for?

As Senior Site Manager you will take a key role in managing internal work packages involving high volume multi - room delivery within the healthcare environment. The senior site manager will ensure safety and quality through effective management of sub contractor supply chain and resources. This role offers the opportunity to deliver a key new build healthcare project for the local community.

Your day to day will include but not be limited to:

  • Manage and direct sub contractor partners to deliver a large section of internals work, across multiple concurrent levels safely.
  • Check work carried out by sub-contractors to assess delivery in line with programme, design drawings and quality standards.
  • Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements from sub contractors to ensure working methods outlined are safe and appropriate.
  • Carry out toolbox talks and site inductions to ensure full compliance with Kier standards.
  • Co-ordinate site logistics, movement of plant & labour too, from and around site ensuring safety is maintained in doing so.
  • Report any issues or programme slippages to the site / project manager.
  • Create, log and file site reports and paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • With the guidance of the wider project team (P.M, Designer, Engineer etc) find solutions to any challenges.

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Site Manager is great for you in you can demonstrate:

  • Relevant construction qualification HND/ Degree, trades accreditation or equivalent
  • Prior experience in delivering healthcare projects of significant size
  • Strong interiors / multi room experience
  • Working within the main contracting environment, ensuring the highest standards or safety, quality and compliance.
  • Holding SMSTS 5 Day Cert, CSCS Card and First Aid cert as minimum
