The Role: As a Purchasing Officer, you will:
- Be an ambassador for the new Procurement function.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders.
- Drive high performance across the entire Supply Chain.
- Process purchase requests and place orders with suppliers.
- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to established procedures, local laws, regulations, and directions from Senior Management.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding purchase order commitments and ensure On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery.
- Obtain quotations from existing and potential new suppliers.
- Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers.
- Convert purchase requests to purchase orders within agreed service levels.
- Confirm purchase orders with suppliers.
- Communicate any difficulties or delays through agreed channels.
- Maintain master data in systems and other locations.
- Create new part numbers.
- Analyze and resolve invoice queries with suppliers.
About You:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
- A procurement or supply chain-related qualification such as CIPS is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
- Experience with major ERP systems is desirable.
- Ability to work autonomously on processes within agreed service levels.
- Service and solution-oriented mindset.
- Basic analytical skills.
