The role requires the successful candidate to support the development, implementation of credit risk assurance activity for our large, growing and successful private credit business.

The role will report to the Group Risk & Compliance Officer, who has responsibility and oversight of the Product Governance, Risk & Compliance functions within TriplePoint. The role will sit within the 2LOD risk function and work with the wider Financial Risk oversight team.

Applicants should have relevant experience in a credit risk audit or credit assurance role, either in the banking sector or through a non-bank lending institution or Regulator.

The candidate must have a broad understanding of commercial, corporate and property lending/transactions. Knowledge of infrastructure type deals would be of benefit but not essential.

The successful candidate:

should have a curious mindset, be commercial in their approach and have a positive attitude towards adding value through good risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the 2LOD Risk function function in developing an assessment and review process to ensure credit exposures, term and conditions and associated deal documentation is aligned to approved terms.
  2. The output of the quality assurance reviews will be used to assess the quality of our Private Credit businesses policies, frameworks and practices relating to the management of credit risk – identifying possible operational weaknesses, training needs and process deficiencies.
  3. Providing tangible feedback and making recommendation on processes improvements to mitigate future risk.
  4. Provide thematic reviews as well as focused deep dives into specific individual cases where additional assurance may be of benefit, as requested by 1LOD.
  5. Analyse data and MI and provide independent observations re credit risk exposure/trend
  6. Provide independent oversight of the Forebearance and Provisions process
  7. Review related regulatory processes that deal with areas such as Vulnerable Clients, Complaints etc within Private Credit
  8. Timely and accurate reporting and escalation of issues to Senior Management
  9. Provide support in completing operational based audits across the lending book (when necessary)
  10. Work collaboratively with colleagues to embed a strong risk culture across the Group

Knowledge and Experience

The candidate should have a solid understanding of ‘good and appropriate’ lending practices and procedures.

Should be able to determine and apply a risk based approach in their assessment / outcomes

The candidate will have strong organisational and communication skills.

Attention to detail and accuracy are essential for this role.
