Bridgwater – South West
Permanent contract + package
Sphere Solutions are currently recruting for an Assistant QS to work for a reputable contractor in Bridgwater.
Our client work with a variety of leading main contractors and housebuilders to successfully complete a range of civil engineering and groundwork projects, ranging in value from £100,000 to £15 million.
Turnover circa £20 million and the business is split 50% housing/ 50% main contracting (mainly public sector projects – schools, hospitals, social housing etc).
The Candidate:
- Ideally experienced in civil engineering and groundworks
- NEC contract experience
- Ideally resides locally to the area but will recruit from areas like (Bristol, Taunton, Bridgwater, Newport)
- 1-3 years’ experience for AQS and 5-10 years for the senior role
Duties:
- Assisting in the preparation of the sub-contract/supplier enquiry lists for approval.
- Preparing full enquiry packs and collating all tender information, ensuring fully compliant tender packs are issued, return tenders are analysed and compliant bids received.
- Preparing tender comparison sheets, including making recommendations for placing subcontract orders
- Attending meetings that may be necessary in the performance of your duties.
- Complying with and upholding company policies and procedures
- Carrying out drawing take-offs
