About the job

My client is seeking a dynamic Head of Employee Relations to join their Human Resources Team based in London. This is a newly created pivotal role which offers an exciting opportunity to enhance employees' experiences and contribute to organisational growth.

Role

The Head of Employee Relations will spearhead the employee relations function. You will be responsible for crafting, implementing, and sustaining employee relations strategies, policies, and procedures, while leading a team of 2 Employee Relations Advisors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Strategies: Create and maintain inclusive employee relations strategies, policies, and procedures that align with our employee-centred culture and support our organisational values, goals, and objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of Employee Relations Advisors, offering guidance, support, and development opportunities.
  • Expert Advice: Provide expert advice and guidance to senior management on complex employee relations issues, including performance management, restructuring, compliance, policy, and practice.
  • Tracking and Reporting: Track and report on employee relations activities, identifying key themes and trends.
  • Stay Updated: Monitor trends in employee relations and employment law to ensure our policies, procedures, and templates are up-to-date and compliant.
  • Case Management: Manage complex employee relations cases, including investigations, disciplinary actions, grievances, capability issues, and employment tribunal cases.
  • Legal Liaison: Serve as the internal contact for employment law queries and manage relationships with external legal advisors.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with HR Business Partners and Centres of Excellence to provide an employee relations perspective, supporting the development and delivery of people initiatives and the wider people strategy.

Key Experience Required

  • CIPD Qualification: Level 5 CIPD qualification is desirable.
  • Extensive Experience: Significant experience in employee relations, including the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Employment Law Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of employment law and best practices.
