1. The Company
KD SCHMID is one of the world’s leading music management companies, with offices in Hannover, Berlin, London, and New York. We specialise in bespoke strategic artist management and arranging international tours and projects. Established in 1959, we pride ourselves on our heritage and family-orientated team culture that we have maintained throughout our long history and across all 4 offices.
We have a distinct international in-house style with a reputation for building longstanding relationships with artists, orchestras, promoters, and venues.
From the end of 2024, our activities in Germany will be concentrated in Berlin where we will have an office near the Zoologischer Garten train station with our 25 employees. 2. Role
We are looking for an ambitious and experienced individual to join our team as Senior Artist Manager. Our ideal candidate has extensive experience in artist management and strong leadership skills. The position also involves the following responsibilities:
- Management and development of a roster of high-calibre artists for general and local management.
- Responsibility for sales and booking engagements as well as creating and implementing individual artist strategies.
- Continuous enhancement of the KD-SCHMID roster in both existing and expanding areas of business.
- Coordinating and maintaining partnerships with event organisers and orchestras nationally and internationally.
- Independent negotiation and conclusion of contracts with event organisers.
- National and international travel to concerts, conferences, and business meetings.
- Collaborating with a team of international Artist Coordinators and Managers with a focus on leading and developing the team of Junior Managers through sharing your experience and expertise.
3. Essential competencies
- Extensive experience in artist management.
- Proven ability to develop the careers of high-level artists with empathy, understanding and bespoke strategies.
- Experience signing new artists.
- Existing broad network within the music and events scene both in and outside of Europe; knowledge of the international chamber music market would be an advantage.
- Very good knowledge of classical music repertoire.
- Independent and goal-oriented work as well as the ability to work in a team, adaptability, and bring a proactive approach.
- Exceptional communication skills as well as a professional and confident attitude.
- For the Berlin office, fluent German and English skills are necessary; for the London office, fluent English skills are required, and knowledge of German is an advantage but not essential.
- Willingness to travel.
