About the Role:

We are a recruitment agency representing a prestigious accountancy practice based in Swanley, Kent, that is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Corporate Tax Assistant to join their team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a hybrid model, providing a balance between collaborative office work and remote flexibility.

Role Overview:

The Corporate Tax Assistant will play an integral role in supporting the firm's corporate tax team by handling compliance tasks and assisting with various tax advisory projects. This position is ideal for individuals with a solid background in corporate tax within an accountancy practice and a keen interest in further developing their skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of corporation tax returns for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring adherence to all regulatory deadlines and compliance standards.
  • Tax Reporting: Support the preparation of quarterly and annual tax reports, maintaining accurate and detailed records for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Tax Advisory: Work closely with senior team members on corporate tax advisory projects, including tax planning, restructuring, and other complex assignments.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to collect necessary documentation, answer queries, and provide general tax support.
  • Research and Analysis: Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations and assist in research activities to understand their impact on clients.
  • Team Support: Provide administrative and technical support to senior tax professionals and managers on various client projects.
  • Software Utilization: Utilize tax preparation software and other tools to streamline tax processes and ensure accuracy in reporting.

Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a corporate tax assistant role within an accountancy practice in the UK.
  • Education: Relevant qualifications such as AAT, ATT, or equivalent experience in corporate tax.
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of UK corporate tax legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Skills: Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues clearly and concisely.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and support colleagues as needed.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable with a hybrid working model and adaptable to changing work conditions.
