Role Overview:


As the senior leader of the Supply Chain, this role will have responsibility for Procurement, Purchasing and Logistics for the Nidec Drives business segment globally.


Leading the global Procurement, Purchasing and Logistics teams, the holder will create and execute a Procurement strategy designed to deliver a world-class, agile and sustainable supply chain as the foundation of competitive advantage for Nidec Drives and our Customers.


This role will be pivotal in driving key business objectives and will be responsible for the tactical day-to-day execution of the Nidec Drives global material supply chain, as well as supporting factory operations with excellent material availability.


Key Job Responsibilities:


The responsibilities of the global supply chain director are shared across 4 sections:


Strategy & Development, Tactical Execution, People Management & Relationship Management.


  • To be successful in this role you will work with the Nidec Drives leadership team to create the long-term vision and goals for the Supply Chain Group, aligned to the Supply Chain Strategic Business Plan
  • You will be required to create a strong team structure that supports the long-term vision and goals, attracts & develops talent and is lean and cost-efficient
  • Initiate and develop a strategic game plan to achieve the short, medium, and long-term objectives.
  • Ensuring you own and lead the generation of the annual and quarterly game plans to achieve targets, including managing VAA trackers and Quarterly OA files.
  • Create, set, and align objectives across the team with individual targets and accountability to measure performance and challenge for improvement.
  • Provide leadership by Coaching, mentoring, and developing the team.
  • Encourage creative, transformational thinking combined with a winning (never give up) Nidec mindset.
  • You will be required to Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
  • You will report on Supply Chain Group activities regularly to the Executive team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of the relevant KPIs
  • You will be required to work collaboratively, negotiate, and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the overall Operations and Supply Chain Strategy


Qualifications & Experience:


  • CIPS or Business Bachelor’s Degree
  • Master’s degree: in business-related subject (Desirable)


  • Experience in a Supply Chain leadership role, in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements
  • Familiar with electronics and mechanical raw parts base
  • Managing supply constraints and risk
  • Experience in Inventory management
  • Experience in operating and influencing at a strategic level
