THE ROLE
We are looking for someone with a passion for running and events to join a young, passionate and growing company.
Job Description
As Event Staffing Executive, you will be working directly with our event management team to deliver running events across the UK while leading the recruitment of and communication with event day staff and volunteers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event delivery:
- Collaborate with the event team to plan and execute events
- Assist in setting up, managing, and dismantling event sites, ensuring that all elements meet our high standards.
- Support with the delivery of events as Event Village team member/lead on event days
- Active participation in debriefs after events
- Volunteer recruitment:
- Interacting with the wider running community to enhance reputation and engagement
- Creating new relationships with runners who come to our events
- Recruit & retain volunteers helping to work towards the 60% volunteer ratio at all events
- Recruit & manage paid staff for event days where required
Personal Specification:
- The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working in live events, an interest in running/sport and be a fast learner.
- They will be comfortable speaking to people from different backgrounds, building relationships and helping the team to grow out marshal and volunteer community
Essential:
- Able to work to strict deadlines and calm under pressure
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to carry out manual tasks
- Desire to learn, develop and advance personal career prospects
- Passion for delivering faultless events with a customer-centric focus
- Willing to work on weekends (Start: 5-6am | Finish: 12pm-2pm) on a rota basis (average of 2 weekends per month)
- Full UK Driving Licence and willing to drive a van
Desirable:
- Experience working live events
- Keen interest in and knowledge of running and sport
- Experience of managing a small team
- Experience working with volunteers
- Previous experience driving a van
- Personable and confident in social situations
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills.
