About us

At Sunamp we are on a mission to transform the way we generate, store and use heat in our homes and businesses; to help us all make a significant impact on climate change. To do this, we develop and manufacture heat batteries which use phase change materials to provide heat and hot water.


Our best-selling Thermino range of heat batteries are manufactured in Scotland and replace hot water cylinders to deliver fast flowing hot water on demand. So far, over 25,000 heat batteries have been installed in homes across the UK and in other parts of the world, cutting fuel costs and carbon emissions for residents.


What you will need

  • A minimum of 2+ years experience within a similar role or a manufacturing or engineering/appliances environment
  • Degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or equivalent
  • Proven experience in continuous improvement or quality engineering roles.
  • To be a logical thinker and able to comprehend complex systems.
  • Able to maintain composure during stressful situations and undertaking difficult tasks.
  • Be naturally curious, creative, innovative and has excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, both theoretical and practical.
  • Hands-on practical experience with the ability to trial and prototype.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis tools and techniques such as 8D.
  • Understanding of manufacturing paradigms such as Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Training to Green belt in Six Sigma or Lean Sigma level is desirable.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and implementing process change.
  • Working experience within a disruptive technology start-up company is beneficial.

It will be your responsibility to:

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including senior leadership, NPI, test, materials, manufacturing, customer services and, of course, quality.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing efficiency, reducing waste and optimising Sunamp’s production processes.
  • Work closely with our customer service and field service team to develop and streamline our NCR processes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Support Sunamp’s circular economy for heat battery recycling and salvage of materials.
  • Use data to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor and track process performance, quality trends, and improvement initiatives.
  • Provide training and support to employees on quality standards, problem-solving methodologies, and continuous improvement techniques.
