The role contributes to the overall strategic development of the organisation as well as supporting the Executive Creative Producer to lead the Producing team. You play a key role supporting the Executive Creative producer and Artistic Advisors in mixed model - multi art form programming, including new writing, devising, new theatrical development through the commissioning and nurturing of new plays, ideas, co-productions and presentations. The role encompasses identifying, supporting and developing new scripts and emerging creative talent, and will play a key role in the development of the comedy, music, literature and late-night programming opportunities.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Programming and Producing
Play a key role in artistic planning and scheduling the artistic programme within available resources across in house, co-produced, visiting and in association with productions - working closely with the Executive Creative producer (ECP) and the overall producing teamEnsure that all artistic work is produced to the highest standards and that our client’s reputation for its supportive and positive relationships with artists and creative partners is maintainedTo act as senior lead producer on identified productions and initiatives, alongside the producer and wider teamWork with the ECP to support the development of commercial subsidised co-producing opportunities and support the ECP to effectively manage these relationshipsWork closely with the Creative engagement team to plan and deliver complimentary activities that reflects the core programme. CREATIVE TEAMS
Oversee appointment creative team members, with the support of the ProducerOversee with the Producer and Technical Department on the selection and appointment of the Stage Management and Technical teamsSupport the producer in the management of the Artistic AssociatesWork closely with the Head of Technical & Building Services to understand and realise the ambitions of creative teams
FINANCE AND FUNDRAISING
Work with the ECP and Head of Finance and Resources to develop, maintain andoversee the management of production budgets and agree income targetsEnsure accurate management of all agreed production budgets, provide timely and accurate updates of budget projections to finance, cashflows and other financial information as required and within agreed finance and accountancy procedures and formats.In partnership with the Head of Development, support on the development of funding applications for artists, and develop new approaches in support of the artistic programmeWork closely with the Head of Technical & Building Services to ensure excellent financial control and budget management including attending production meetings alongside the producer
ADVOCACY, PEOPLE MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT
To act as an ambassador for our client within the arts community and beyond, supporting the development of relationships with a wide range of artists, actors, producers, theatres, festivals, the press and media, funding bodies and other stakeholdersTo line-manage the Producing team, identifying and implementing opportunities for each individuals’ development and performance improvement. Overseen by the Executive creative producer, to be responsible for the evaluation of individual productions and projects as well as the artistic programme against agreed criteria, supported by the producing teamReport writing and feed back to wider organisation, evidencing evaluation against best practiceWith the Head of Creative Engagement develop a framework – supported by the ECP – for organisational best practice and success
PERSON SPECIFICATIONEssential
