This role is perfect for an experienced engineer specialising in fire alarm and security systems, who enjoy installing, servicing, maintaining and undertaking remedial tasks.

You will be multi-disciplined in Fire and/or Security systems and panels, Access Control, CCTV or Intruder, able to service, fault-find & investigate and responsible for the installation and repair of fire detection and security systems. You will be confident with overseeing projects from the commissioning to the completion of the job, within the planned timescale of the project. A minimum of 2 years’ experience within the fire and security industry is essential for this role.

Main duties and responsibilities

Knowledge and expertise
  • Can carry out Installation, testing and maintenance of CCTV, Intruder, Intercom, Access Control and Fire Alarm systems
  • Confident in fault finding
  • Experience of cable containment
  • Use CRM system correctly and efficiently, logging travel time, job start & finish and adding informative job notes onto daily worksheets
  • Confident in all disciplines
  • Complete work to a NSI standard
  • Able to install, commission and carry out maintenance of fire safety, fire suppression and security systems
  • Have a strong understanding of the regulations
  • Completing the scheduled maintenance of the fire detection and/or emergency light systems at our customers sites.
  • Whilst on site update the site logbooks with details of all work carried out and take photos to upload to CRM system.
  • Use provided documentation to try and resolve faults in the first instant
  • Conduct all first and second fixing works associated with security system installation
  • Being able to confidently design small installations and assist in the design of larger installations
  • Servicing and maintaining various systems, to include small works installations and fault finding
  • Plan and respond to routine and re-active call visits
  • Maintain Fire & Security Systems
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on fire alarm systems, video surveillance systems (CCTV), and other security devices to ensure they are functioning correctly and meet safety standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems with fire alarm systems, CCTV cameras, and other security equipment quickly and efficiently.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and documentation accurately and promptly

Skills:
  • Technical proficiency in diagnosing and repairing faults in electronic systems
  • Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, access control systems, CCTV systems, and other security solutions.
  • Familiarity with industry codes, regulations, and best practices
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure
  • Understands different types of cable containment systems
  • Demonstrates a logical and highly competent approach to the installation of Fire Detection and Alarm Systems
  • Good working knowledge of intruder alarms (additional experience in the wider product range; CCTV, entry and access control systems, and fire alarms is an advantage
  • Basic IT knowledge, e.g. software installation into Windows Operating Systems, IP based systems, and networking principles
  • Strong technical knowledge
  • Experience in system design and root cause analysis
Must have a clean driving license and is able to commute to Salisbury (within an hour from Salisbury)

The position is full time Monday- Friday 08:30- 17:00. You will be based at our Salisbury office and you will be required to carry out work in Salisbury and the surrounding areas 

Must be based in the UK

  • A five-year background history for security clearance
  • ID documents for PNC & Enhanced DBS checks
