Location Manchester city Centre (hybrid 2 days per week)
As a company that is on a hyper growth trend, we are hiring an experienced, creative team leader specializing in content marketing with strong, diverse management experience to join a rapidly evolving business.
As the successful candidate, you know that the world of content involves much more than a blog page. Different digital platforms have different user consumption behaviours and you are an expert in identifying the content type for each channel and guiding your team to creating strategies for maximum brand distribution and awareness for greater acquisition opportunities.
You have a proven track record of content marketing expertise and can, from idea to action, lead your team to campaign development and execution by nurturing complex relationships with multiple vendors and internal peers.
You will have creative, strategic and communications skills with dedicated experience executing exceptional content strategies for start-up international brands, and possess in-depth knowledge of digital marketing principles.
You will have demonstrated the ability to collaborate seamlessly with other team leaders; Demand Generation, Conversion Optimization, Search Engine Optimization, Social Media Marketing and Creative Services.
You believe in coaching, developing and supporting your team and are constantly striving for ways to improve personally.
The successful candidate will:
Drive and work on the day to day direct management of the content marketing team in creating, managing and executing content strategies that meet overall brand initiatives on owned WordPress sites and YouTube channels.
Ensure your team create, curate, develop and manage outsourced copy, digital images, video, podcasts and free game projects for emerging brands.
Oversee adherence to client brand voice and tone.
Development of best practice playbooks for each brand to ensure continuity of efforts and deploying central thematic stories.
- Have a solid understanding of SEO, website categorization and structure, content development, distribution and measurement.
- Reimagine content pieces in various ways (e.g. turn a podcast into a snippet series for social media).
- Review monthly/quarterly/annual reports and planning before sending to senior management, and be able to respond to any questions from senior staff.
- Oversee the deployment of content influencer strategies that expand user base and create excitement.
- Work in collaboration with all other team leads for a unified, 360 approach to brand message distribution.
- Be responsible for the overall development of meaningful, shareable content that incites action and engagement.
- QA checks of uploaded content to ensure accuracy and ongoing optimization.
- Manage the relationships with PR firms, meeting regularly to discuss upcoming plans for distribution to national publishers for brand awareness and backlinks.
- Oversee the briefing and execution of new WordPress sites, from RFP through to launch.
- Maintain up-to-date analytics and reports on all accounts, with continuous optimization toward key audiences and objectives.
- Daily monitoring and engaging within content specialists to ensure best practice.
- Conduct ongoing competitive intelligence analysis.
- Creating benchmarks and forecasts by campaign.
- Keeping abreast of all industry trends, insights, topics and best practices.
- Weekly one-one coaching with content specialists, and weekly team meetings to share updates and best practices.
- Monthly tracking of budgets, KPIs, and agency/specialists performance against PORs.
- Trouble-shooting issues when they arise, seeking the best solution for the brand.
- Performance reviews with the content specialists, including issuing Performance Improvement Plans if required.
- Oversee management of YouTube as a main distribution port and SEO source.
- Vendor onboarding where required.
- Business case support and reviews before sending to commercial for approval.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- 4+ years in a similar capacity with a start-up environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Willing to work outside of standard business hours to overlap with squad time zones.
- Ability to travel for in-person meetings with squad and other senior management.
- Demonstrated experience with content creation across various channels and media types.
- Experience utilizing CMS especially WordPress.
- Strong track record of managing resources including budgets and personnel.
- Knowledge of online marketing tactics and search marketing fundamentals.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment.
- Motivated individual, comfortable with rapid changes.
- Passion for content marketing, social media marketing and SEO analytics.
- Experience managing multiple projects at the same time and proven time management skills.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
