We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Sales to join a thriving business based in Scarborough, recognised as one of the UK’s top companies in their industry. The role offers a basic salary of £72,000 per annum, with a generous commission structure based on your team's sales, providing a realistic OTE of £90,000. This is a virtual role, with the expectation of 1-2 days per month in the Scarborough office.

Leading and managing a high-performing sales team while being a top closer requires a unique blend of skills—earning your team’s trust and respect by leading from the front. You’ll take full ownership of your area, actively creating new opportunities, and acting as a world-class trainer, mentor, and developer, with an insatiable hunger for success.

You’ll enjoy working closely with your team, not just managing from afar, but engaging alongside them to hit KPIs and meet ambitious targets. As part of the leadership team (comprising the Head of Sales, Marketing Manager, Operations and Event Delivery Manager, and Financial Controller), you'll report directly to the Head of Business. The company sources leads from multiple channels, ensuring that your team contacts clients who have already expressed interest, selling them our tailored services.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Delivering comprehensive training for new starters on how to sell themselves, the business, and our products effectively.
  • Engaging with your team by listening to calls, providing motivation, fine-tuning their performance, and offering support where needed.
  • Collaborating with the marketing team to ensure a steady and appropriate flow of high-quality leads, then guiding your team in maximising these opportunities.
  • Sharpening your team’s objection-handling skills to create a resilient sales force capable of turning challenges into opportunities.
  • Refining opening questions, helping your team excel in uncovering client needs and conducting effective fact-finding.
  • Training diverse closing techniques, ensuring your team can close deals with different clients in various scenarios.
  • Equipping the team with knowledge of our success stories so they can confidently share case studies with clients, building trust and connections quickly.
  • Leading by example, stepping in when necessary to demonstrate best practices—whether it’s how to open, handle objections, or close a deal, especially for new starters or those in training.

This role is for someone who knows how to support and push the team to achieve more, always focused on helping them become the best version of themselves. You will be positive, have high-energy and be a target-driven individual who can motivate and inspire. You should have sold at a high level and understand how to lead by example—someone whose team respects them, learns from them, and consistently delivers growth. Package:
  • Basic Salary: £72,000 per annum, with a generous commission structure based on your team's sales, offering a realistic OTE of £90,000—with no cap on earnings.
  • Benefits: Comprehensive health cover, gym membership, sports and social events, 0% loans, and a small pension.

  • Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (9am-5pm, Monday to Friday). While the sales team is encouraged to explore optimal working hours, as Head of Sales, you'll do what it takes to achieve results.
  • Events Commitment: We run events on approximately 20 weekends per year, with sales team members expected to work half. Additionally, there are around 10 weekday events per year, some of which may require travel. As Head of Sales, you'll be expected to participate in 6 weekend events annually (primarily virtual from home or our Scarborough office) and attend 1 weekday event per month.
  • Location: This role is virtual, with the expectation of 1-2 days per month in our Scarborough office. You’re welcome to come into the office more frequently if you prefer.
  • Holidays: 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, totalling 33 days off per year.
