The Role:

The Finance Manager is responsible for the financial health of the company. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be able to both strategise and manage the day to day bookkeeping , using complex data to maximise profitability. You will also be liaising with and working alongside business and client leads, supporting them in their financial planning. Therefore, you must be able to balance key statistical and numerical abilities with your managerial responsibilities together with the tactical financial management required day to day.


In this role you will supervise the maintenance of all financial systems, whilst identifying aspects that can be improved and implementing any necessary changes to support business development. A financial strategy will be essential to craft, supporting the growth expectations of the business together with identifying the appropriate investment/grant and financial funds available in the open markets, that will help drive our growth aspirations.


Your problem-solving and analytical skills will be put to good use managing the financial accounting systems, carrying out research, and reporting on factors critical to business performance. It is vital that you’re able to evolve fluidly with any changes in the financial landscape.


You will be able to accurately report on the status of the business producing and presenting weekly reports/dashboards to enable the leadership team to visualise their current performance and provide cash forecasting to the end of month,end of quarter and year,


Responsibilities

  • Day to day bookkeeping and accounts managements;
  • Managing all financial accounting operations;
  • Preparing and publishing timely bi-weekly and monthly management accounts to include full variance analysis to budget and forecast;
  • Ensuring all reporting is compliant with statutory law and financial regulations;
  • Ensuring compliance with all HMRC requirements;
  • Documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls;
  • Weekly drawdown and cash flow forecasts;
  • Management of the full working capital cycle (13-week cash flow forecasting, optimal utilisation of confidential commercial invoice financing, robust invoicing, credit control and supplier payment processes)
  • Contributing fully to the company's financial strategy and decision-making processes
  • Completing weekly entering of timesheets into payroll software and associated administration
  • Assisting with company compliance and administration including legal paperwork
  • Debtor Insurance – Maintenance of trading levels and renewals
  • Intermediary reporting
  • Liaising and negotiating with current and prospective suppliers for items such as Public Liability and Debtor Insurance, Telephones, Stationary etc. to ensure cost effective purchasing
  • Research and recommendations for company wide improvements and cost savings where possible


Hours and Environment

The full time working hours will be a minimum of 8.30am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday inclusive, office based. 


We will consider the right applicants with the right experience for a part-time position; the salary will be pro-rata and working hours will be a minimum of 10.00am – 2.00pm 3 to 4 days per week inclusive, office based.

  • At least 5+ years in an influential financial position previously;

Pay and Benefits

This role is paying a basic of £40-45k. We offer generous holiday entitlement and the opportunity to work fully remotely once you have completed your training and probation.
