London, United Kingdom DiverseJobsMatter Full time

Job Description

We have big ambitions at our organisation. To achieve our vision of a world where the financial system serves our planet and its people, we are tackling real world problems where financial institutions and companies can have the biggest impact.

We are at a pivotal moment: the climate and biodiversity crises are deepening, and inequalities are even more marked in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. The global investment system has an oversized impact on many of these global challenges. We want to make sure that impact is positive. We work with investors, policymakers and individuals to unleash the positive potential of the investment system to achieve our vision.

Team

We are widely recognised as a thought leader in the field of responsible investment (RI). The organisation has grown rapidly in the last three years, more than doubling in size, and expanding our impact and reach significantly. With this growth comes the exciting challenge of managing our increasing number of high value funding partnerships whilst also diversifying our fundraising to support individual giving and major gifts.

Our Fundraising Team is formed of several fundraising strands, an established grants programme, a digital fundraising stream raising income from the public, and a philanthropy team working with individuals.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Fundraising Officer to support our fundraising team and help us grow our supporter base.

Position

What you’ll do (key responsibilities)

The Fundraising Officer plays a critical role in supporting our growing Fundraising team. Reporting to the Senior Fundraising Manager this role will focus on growing our individual giving programme and supporting the delivery of excellent supporter stewardship, including event administration, as well as helping to coordinate information and data management across the fundraising team.

The role is hands-on, project management, teamwork, reporting and requires a proactive approach to fundraising initiatives. The main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Lead on the delivery of 2 x Individual Giving (IG) appeals per year;
  • Lead on Gift Aid management for all donors;
  • Monitor the Fundraising inbox, online and postal donations and ensure a high level of donor care is maintained, including thanking and being the first point of contact for individual donor enquiries;
  • Maintain up-to-date supporter records on our Salesforce database and identify opportunities to improve processes for tracking relationships and capturing data;
  • Lead on delivery of a high quality supporter journey for individual donors and support the team to create and deliver excellent stewardship through events and materials;
  • Assist the planning, administration and delivery of fundraising and stewardship events;
  • Track and report all IG income;
  • Support the Senior Fundraising Manager and the Communications team in the planning, administration and analysis of our Individual Giving Programme;
  • Support with copywriting and collating information to share with donors;
  • Support with management of donation platforms;
  • Other ad-hoc administrative duties as and when required.

Requirements

What you’ll bring to the team

As the Fundraising Officer you will be a team player, with excellent organisational, administrative and writing skills. We're looking for a dynamic and creative individual to help us unlock the next chapter of our growth. You’ll be comfortable managing relationships and will be experienced in effectively supporting a fundraising team, whilst managing your own workload. We are looking for a passionate, organised and determined fundraiser, with experience in donor care, strong interpersonal skills allowing you to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, as well as someone with knowledge of fundraising best practices and processes.

What we will do for you

Joining our team gives you the opportunity to work in a friendly, dynamic environment, where initiative and flexibility are valued. As our Fundraising Officer, we will support you to develop and thrive to be the best you can be.

We will offer you the opportunity to achieve significant personal impact in one of the most respected and exciting organisations in the responsible investment space. We seek to offer all its employees an exceptional working experience with opportunities to develop existing and new skills, applying them in ways that help change the world for the better. You will be challenged but also supported to succeed within a friendly, high performing and highly motivated team.

  • You’ll benefit from a highly supportive work environment, with a focus on equality, employee wellbeing and mental health (such as trained Mental Health First Aiders).
  • You’ll have access to internal and external training opportunities, from formal training courses to informal ‘lunch & learn’ sessions with visiting speakers. We’ll also provide you with any training you may need to use our systems.
  • The Fundraising team typically work together in the office once per month, this would be our preferred minimum attendance. Several members of the team go into the office weekly.
  • The Development, Communications and Engagement Directorate holds quarterly meetings in person in London, and the wider organisation also holds strategy days throughout the year usually within London.
