What will you be doing?

Reporting into the Deputy Director of Communications and Fundraising, this is a fantastic opportunity to establish and strengthen Hft’s relationship with politicians, policymakers. As Policy and Public Affairs Officer you will monitor parliamentary activity, consultations and policy developments to inform Hft’s campaign and communications activity.

The role is varied, often working with multiple and complex priorities, using the insight gained through public insight to inform integrated campaigns that raise awareness of the critical issues and the needs of people with learning disabilities.

You will be confident at building strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, with a core understanding of UK political systems and processes, and how public affairs and campaign tactics operates.

If you have the ability to identify the news angle in any story, provide strategic advice on key reputational and media issues, to influence our campaigns and help build our voice of authority, we would like to hear from you
