Reed Business Support are pleased to be working on a unique role within the Events sector. Working with a Rural and Agricultural organisation, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing support with events, both in terms of planning and set-up. Due to a busy Summer schedule, the role will involve regular travel throughout Scotland to trade and industry shows so candidates must have a UK driving license and be comfortable driving a van. 

This position is expected to last until November with the possibility of extension. This is a fantastic role for Events candidates who are comfortable with travel and want to work for a modern, welcoming employer. 

  • Start date: ASAP
  • Hours: 37 per week (some weekend and evening work may be required, with time off in lieu) 

Key responsibilities: 

  • On-Site Events Support:
    • Taking responsibility for various parts of event set up 
    • Driving van with event equipment to venues throughout Scotland 
    • Constructing and dismantling materials (audio visual equipment, event stalls etc.) 
    • Working proactively at events to remediate any issues including acquiring more supplies
    • Ensuring that event set-up matches pre-agreed brief to best display appropriate messaging and design
  • Office based duties:
    • Working closely with Head of Communications to coordinate upcoming events 
    • Liaising with suppliers and vendors to ensure events are prepared beforehand
    • Liaising with internal parties to understand requirements for upcoming events 
    • Maintaining internal systems 
    • Uploading information to platforms like Eventbrite 

Person specifications: 

  • Previous experience working in Events
  • Full UK Driving License and willingness to drive a van to rural Scottish areas 
  • Previous experience setting up AV equipment 
  • Ability to follow schematic diagrams to support with event set up
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with others 
  • Good administrative skills
