Client Background:
My Client plays a crucial role in national nuclear security, focusing on nuclear deterrence and providing specialist technical assistance for nuclear threat reduction. Their mission is to ensure the safety and security of individuals, the environment, products, information, and sites.
Role Overview:
As a qualified Project Manager, you will deliver services to the Information Services (IS) team. This role involves supporting the expansion and optimisation of IS facilities across various sites in Scotland, ensuring that information services are effectively managed in compliance with security standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scope Definition: Define, document, and agree upon the high-level project requirements.
- Requirements Documentation: Elaborate and document detailed functional and non-functional requirements post-approval.
- Project Planning: Identify activities, deliverables, roles, and responsibilities to achieve project outcomes; produce and manage the project plan.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Lead stakeholder analysis and facilitate business engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
- Solution Development: Develop options for delivering technical capabilities; outline associated costs, schedules, and timelines.
- Project Reporting: Ensure timely project reporting, highlighting key risks or issues and liaising with project sponsors for resolution.
- Governance Compliance: Support compliance with IS Project Delivery Governance and manage resources across projects.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience in highly regulated defence or public sector environments, capital infrastructure projects, and deploying digital solutions in third-party locations.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with IT and OT installation standards, technical installations, networks, and applications.
- Project Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to deliver IT projects in complex, multi-disciplined environments; experience in matrix-managed projects and governance processes (project plans, change requests, etc.).
- Tools Proficiency: Experience with SharePoint, Project Online, and Power BI.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing programme needs and manage conflicting priorities.
Project Brief: Expansion and Optimisation of Remote Sites in Scotland
Client Overview:
My Client's mission is supported by several remote sites across Scotland, including operations at various locations and potential new sites. The objective is to effectively manage and provide Information Services (IS) at these facilities.
Scope of Work:
You will support the expansion and optimisation of IS facilities, including:
- Understanding Site-Specific Needs: Assess the unique requirements of each site and develop tailored solutions that meet user needs while adhering to client standards and security compliance.
- Recent Reviews and Improvements: Following a recent review of one of the sites, ensure appropriate capabilities and access levels for data, application, and network services across both lower and higher security tiers.
- Future Assessments: Commit to assessing facilities at various locations and identifying future sites across Scotland, including conducting site surveys, assisting in initiative scoping, and providing necessary deployment support.

The aim is to ensure effective management of Information Services with a strong emphasis on security compliance and adaptability to local constraints.
