Brainpool is an artificial intelligence start-up providing custom AI solutions with the help of its network of 500+ AI and Experts. Members of Brainpool (The Pool) are PhD-level scientists from top universities such as UCL, Oxford, Cambridge, and Harvard. 


We help companies make sense of the noise in AI and LLMs by creating strategy, developing POC’s and MVPs all the way to implementation. We do this for Medium to Large organisations in North America and Europe. 


If you are someone who is genuinely curious about all the ways that AI and LLMs will transform the business world and have a structured approach to client management (but always keeping an eye on business development and growing the relationship) then now is the perfect time to join us. 


The role is a perfect mix for a self-sufficient account manager with an understanding of professional services/consultancy delivery. We have a great team to manage the technical delivery and a Brainpool that can go as deep as any problem requires, but you will own the understanding of the business problem being solved (“the why”). You will also own the primary relationship with the customer to ensure we deliver on our project and also to find the next one


Main Responsibilities


We have been engaging in AI for over a decade. It is on the agenda of every company. Understanding what this could mean for them, what the limitations are and how they go about starting. Brainpool gives them that. As an Account Manager at Brainpool, you'll play a crucial role in nurturing and growing our client base. You will be the bridge between our innovative AI solutions and the businesses that need them. Your efforts will directly impact our growth and the success of our clients, making you an essential member of our team.


To be successful in this role you will need to:


  • Own the relationship. Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships. Understand their underlying goals and act as the main point of contact and manage all aspects of the account.
  • Think strategically about growth: Identify opportunities for growth within existing accounts and collaborate with the wider team to help qualify and engage with prospects.
  • Understand business value. Then advocate for the client internally to ensure our solutions deliver this value. Translating into actionable engagement so our product and engineering teams tailor our solutions to meet these needs.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer within the organization, gathering client feedback to aid in product development and improvement of offerings.
  • Be structured and organised. There are project Management activities that will require you to coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and successful delivery of our solutions.
  • Be humble and let the data guide us. We analyse key account metrics and perform regular account reviews to identify areas of improvement and celebrate successes.

Initially, this role is going to be focussed on the existing clients, making sure we are delighting them and driving additional revenue opportunities. However, over time it will evolve. Helping qualify new clients and eventually driving new clients and the role (and team) grows.

Requirements:


The field of AI and LLMs is a technical one so a formal qualification such as a Bachelor's degree (ideally Science) is going to help. Being technically literate is what will allow you to translate business value into the art of the possible. This technical grounding will need to evolve into a deep understanding of AI technologies and their business applications so the closer you have been to a relevant field the better.


We need you to have previous sales experience in an English-speaking environment. As a dynamic start up you will need a body of experience to support you. Initially this will be to manage the existing client base so an “Account Management” role or roles are essential. If you have done this in a consultancy, professional services company or AI/Software company even better


We really need you to demonstrate how you connect value to technology. How do you authentically communicate the business value of what we do? How do you address client pain points and demonstrate how our technology solves their problems? This role is for someone who has developed, presented and delivered client based solutions. You need to have experience communicating value internally and externally (all the way up to the c-suite) then driving engagements to a successful close.


You need to be someone who gets kicks from the fast-paced world of Start Up. We are dynamic, growing, evolving, the environment has to be flexible at this stage of a company and we need someone who has experience in not only navigating it, but thriving in it. 


That experience also needs to be in some kind of AI and professional services sales. These sales cycles can be as short as a day or 3+ months, requiring stamina and energy. We're building a team of people who not only have experience in sales but are genuinely passionate about the sales industry as a whole and what we do at Brainpool. 


And finally - while you'll always have the wider team and management to bounce your ideas off - you need to be a self-starter, super organised and able to get your head down to pragmatically work through, own and close opportunities.


What We Offer:


Our salary expectations are £80,000+ salary (based on experience) with eligibility to apply for stock options in the business after 6 months probation.
