The Opportunity

We are seeking a Director of Quality to manage the Quality teams at our manufacturing facility with a focus on ensuring compliance with UK, EU, and FDA cGMP regulations and maintaining high-quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the quality team, providing leadership, expertise, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement a sustainable quality strategy, setting clear goals and milestones for the site.
  • Ensure compliance with UK, EU, and FDA cGMP requirements, overseeing regulatory submissions, recalls, and defect reporting.
  • Manage departmental activities and resources within agreed budgets and timelines, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Host and manage regulatory, customer, and supplier audits, ensuring compliance and addressing any findings.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring consistent quality practices across manufacturing sites.
  • Drive the performance of the quality function, using KPIs to monitor and improve quality standards across departments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to raise quality standards, solve issues, and ensure alignment with site goals.
  • Oversee quality risk management activities, ensuring risks are identified, mitigated, and escalated appropriately.
  • Mentor and coach team members, supporting their development and ensuring strong succession planning.
  • Responsible for leading and managing a large team, ensuring effective communication, motivation, and performance across multiple functions.


Experience:

  • Knowledge of GMP standards and experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Proven leadership experience managing large teams through line managers, with a focus on building high-performing team cultures.
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Proactive and solution-driven, with a strong ability to model best practices and lead by example.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multi-department projects and collaborating across functions.
