We are seeking a Technical Instructor to join our professional and dynamic team, playing a key role within our Skills City operation and leading on delivery of our AI-driven Software Engineering bootcamp.


With your passion for developing others, you will deliver a defined technical curriculum for early career technical hires and career changers on their journey to become skilled Software Developers, Web Developers, and similar roles. Our bootcamps are delivered over 12 weeks and run multiple times during the year. The bootcamp combines instructor led training (both remote and occasionly on-site), practical exercises, scenario-based project sprints, and more to develop and hone programming skills, web development skills and Database skills.


The instructor will be provided with a curriculum and teaching framework. There may also be a requirement to create new resources for the bootcamp where there is a need.


This is a contract role open for UK based candidates for 12-week duration aligning with our cohort start dates that requires your full-time availability during the bootcamp period where you can expect between £6000 - £8000 for the entire bootcamp delivery based on your skillset and experience.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:


  • Delivering and supporting all aspects of the defined AI-driven Software Engineering Bootcamp curriculum
  • Ensuring student engagement per program requirements and offering support in client-facing projects.
  • Guide and mentor students towards achieving technical expertise and career opportunities. Conduct technical mock interviews with the interns
  • Support the Skills City team in timetabling and monitoring student learning progress
  • Administering LMS tasks such as scheduling sessions, managing attendance and uploading session recordings, registering participants and creating/editing instructor resources
  • Evaluate and provide feedback to all learners’ activities and submissions promptly.
  • Working closely with the learning strategy team to preserve a consistent program experience for all learners through a defined curriculum, milestones, and interactions
  • Providing content and class feedback to the learning strategy team led by Quality Assurance Manager to drive improvements
  • Be available and respond to all official communication via MS Teams chat, Email, etc. throughout working hours.
  • Be passionate about developing talent across all backgrounds to drive up economic and social mobility.
  • Be willing to support with other tasks as and when required.


Skills

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and essential skills:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years teaching experience in a similar role
  • Full-Stack Software Development experience (Python, JavaScript, OOP, HTML/CSS, React.js, SQL) and Azure Cloud
  • Strong foundational knowledge of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
  • Expertise in leveraging AI tools for Software Development
  • Ability to self-learn new skills and keep tech skills updated
  • Ability to deliver engaging teaching and learning sessions remotely
  • Excellent stand–up delivery and facilitation skills and strong “stage presence” that drives key learning outcomes and motivates application of knowledge beyond the classroom
  • A passion for teaching and learning
