Job Specification
This is a key, office and field-based sales role within Simplified Safety. You will be responsible for driving and managing sales growth from technical specification through to project handover/ completion and delivery.
Your role will also involve working closely with the Simplified Safety General Manager and the other European Simplified Businesses, making a direct contribution to our strategic development and sales goal.
Your Role will focus on 5 key areas:
1. Developing and managing a sales pipeline.
2. Actively maintaining accurate customer and project details in our CRM.
3. Visiting customers to determine the best safety solution for their requirements.
4. Coordinating and managing projects to ensure materials and installation are delivered to spec, on time, and on budget (working with the PM).
5. Building repeat customer relationships and delivering first-class customer service.
You must be able to demonstrate the following:
· A strong technical knowledge and understanding of safety solutions which will enable you to provide detailed project quotations to customers
· The experience necessary to manage the installation of products and labour-only contractors
· Strong time management skills to maintain follow-ups and manage active project requirements.
Role Duties
1. Maintaining relationships with internal departments and ensuring products are shipped on time.
2. The delivery of a personal monthly sales target is set and agreed upon with the GM.
3. Designing safety systems compliant with the relevant European and British Standards
4. All project opportunities are to be logged and updated daily on the CRM system
5. Quotations to be produced in quotation software provided by the Company
6. Attending sites and performing complex site surveys.
7. Conducting project handovers with the Project Manager. Ultimately, the project is your responsibility to your customer. There may be times when you will be required to manage your projects when the PM / GM is unavailable to assist. Knowledge of RAMS would be highly beneficial.
8. Presenting monthly reports/ forecasts and other information to management and staff
9. Identifying key accounts and maintaining relationships.
10. Following up on customer leads and maintaining control of quotations and relationships.
11. Maintain a detailed & up to date knowledge of products and services offered by the business.
12. Selling products and services in person and over the telephone effectively & professionally.
13. Being aware of market trends and the actions of competitors
14. Maintaining a positive attitude that inspires co-workers and clients to grow the business.
Education and Experience
· A minimum of 2 years of technical sales/engineering/health and safety background
· Conversant with Microsoft Office
· Full Driving License & car suitable for travel/ customer visits
· Site experience would be beneficial to this role but not mandatory.
Person Specification
· Numerate, analytical, and with excellent attention to detail.
· Good communicator with the ability to problem solve/ think on their feet.
· Must be a confident self-starter able to work on their own initiative
· Able to work well in a small team
· Good telephone manners; confident and willing to deal with customers
· Must be prepared to travel throughout the UK and overseas when required.
· Physically fit to climb ladders/ walk around for some time on site when surveying projects/ assisting installation works.
· Tidy appearance & well presented as you will be customer facing.
