Aboutthe Job

In this role, youwill:

  • Define the strategy, vision, anddevelopment roadmap for Data Assets.
  • Act as thecustodian for both the structure and content of the DataDictionary, delivering excellent change control processes as thesingle point of accountability for changes to data standards andtheir attributes.
  • Showcase excellent metadatamanagement and embed adequate processes and procedures in productlifecycles to drive high quality outputs andstandards.
  • Encouraging, supporting, andchallenging data owners in the development and use of standardsacross the functions and governmentdepartments.
  • Establish a clear data standardsownership model across central functions, chairing cross-functiondata standards change boards and growing a data-literate communityof practice to improve the benefits of data standardisation acrossthe functions.
  • Engage regularly with theCabinet Office, Central Digital and Data Office, and other leadinggovernment data functions and groups to align on Data Strategy,Data Principles, and DataStandards.


Thisis an exciting role for an experienced data professional, to own,govern and develop the newly created data standards and theirattributes for four government functions. You will be part of agrowing community of data professionals and would be supported toundertake professional developmentopportunities.


AboutYou

We are looking for someonewith proven experience of establishing data standards, metadatamanagement, data structures, and expertise in data analysis. Youshould have excellent communication skills including the ability totranslate technical information into accessible language. Youshould also be excellent at delivering in large and complexenvironments and providing high-quality leadership and managementof agile projects and products. You should be able to anticipateand understand internal and external trends and practices, andencourage and share innovative ideas from diverse range ofcolleagues and partners to generate continuousimprovement.


Qualificationsin Project Management as well as Data, Technical or ServiceManagement would be beneficial. Although applicants who arepart-qualified or with sufficient relevant experience against thethese qualifications, who are willing to study towards thesequalifications are encouraged toapply.
