Network HR are delighted to be appointed to support the search for an experienced Learning, Development & Early Careers Lead. Reporting into the People Director, and collaborating with the Leadership Team, the Learning Development & Early Careers Lead will define the vision, strategy and roadmap for the organisations Learning and Development and Early Careers strategy to attract retain, and nurture talent across the organisation.


The role will assist with the delivery of both the Group's Learning & Development strategy, as well as the early careers strategy, ensuring that the Group complies with all business controls, procedures, regulatory guidelines, and best practice requirements. The role should also provide up to date information to senior management to assist with future planning and ongoing management of the business and Boards.


The role will operate as SME, bringing a point of view on emerging and best practices. Expertise and knowledge of best practise and new emerging trends in learning development and early careers is essential.


Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the creation, design, and delivery of a learning culture and strategy to ensure all our people fulfil their potential using a blended approach to learning.
  • Determine the Early Careers framework for the organisation with particular focus to future skills and identifying opportunities to further embed and support our Diversity and Inclusion and Early Careers objectives to promote a strong, inclusive culture enriching the EC experience for all involved. Managing and owning the framework end to end.
  • Design and develop innovative and creative solutions to nurture, develop and mobilise talent across the organisation. Driving a culture of learning, continuous improvement and enabling high performance teams.
  • Act as a strategic and trusted learning business partner to key stakeholders and leaders within the business to guide, advise and develop learning initiatives.
  • Work closely with the People Director to develop Talent development programmes and create development opportunities as part of the programme.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to develop individual development plans and opportunities for specific individuals or groups. Understanding the key business priorities and challenges to shape an effective learning offer.
  • Upskill large parts of the organisation to develop personal and technical skills and knowledge based on business and market demand.
  • Utilise the data available to understand challenges, priorities, and further initiatives.
  • Provide thought leadership for employee and organisation development activities.
  • Responsibility and accountability for the core learning budget



Candidate background:

  • Coaching qualification preferred.
  • Solid senior experience of L&D within a large and complex organisation (financial services preferable but not essential).
  • Experience of building and delivering Early Career frameworks and talent solutions.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the learning cycle and how the L&D function can ‘add-value’ via excellent service levels.
  • Excellent consulting / relationship building skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Established track record of designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating a variety of training interventions (regulatory, soft-skills, management development).
  • Strategic Agility - Sees ahead clearly; can anticipate future consequences and trends accurately; has broad knowledge and perspective; is future oriented; can articulately paint credible pictures and visions of possibilities and likelihoods; can create competitive and breakthrough strategies and plans
