About the Team

Thales Underwater Systems (UWS) who design, develop and support Sonar Systems applications for anit-submarine warfare and mine hunting, have a fantastic opportunity for an Hardware Engineering Manager to join our diversely experienced team. Your role will play a pivotal part in bringing this team together and ensuring collaboration across various departments.

Our Opportunity

This Hardware Engineering Manager (SHP) role resides within the Sonar Hardware Products (SHP) portfolio of UWS Hardware Engineering, and is the key account manager and 'front of house' for any Hardware Engineering tasks and work packages that deliver into the Support & Auxiliary Services delivery function. They are additionally responsible for the engineering management of tasks related to products and building blocks within the SHP portfolio.

Main Responsibilities Include:
  • Coordination, distribution and stakeholder management of engineering tasks and work packages between the Hardware Engineering portfolios and Central Resource teams.
  • Managing the completion of engineering design, development and qualification tasks for any work packages that reside within the SHP portfolio.
  • Driving the completion of these tasks within the committed cost, schedule and quality constraints.
  • Working in collaboration with the Project teams, Product Line teams and Building Block Architects as required, to identify opportunities for use of common hardware across UWS portfolios and projects.
  • Promoting and identifying funding for Building Block road maps within their perimeter, and subsequently manage the delivery of the Building Block solutions across UWS portfolios and projects.
