We are seeking a highly skilled Configuration Management Specialist to join our team at Thales. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and validity of our data management processes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective configuration management plans for new and existing projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address contractual and commercial requirements.
- Create and maintain configuration management plans, ensuring compliance with policies and contractual requirements.
- Specify and maintain configuration contractor and supplier requirements.
- Audit and assess contractors and suppliers to ensure configuration management processes meet requirements.
- Ensure accurate definition of products and their defining data.
- Participate in design and stage reviews.
- Establish and maintain configuration baselines.
- Participate in the selection of configuration items and product breakdown structures.
- Establish and maintain configuration change management systems.
- Coordinate and control configuration change processes.
- Ensure design change is traceable throughout design and implementation.
- Establish and maintain configuration status accounting records.
- Capture, verify, and control configuration information.
- Plan and conduct configuration verifications and audits.
- Support a proactive and innovative approach within the function.
- Perform team task delegation.
- Provide feedback on development environment efficiency and effectiveness.
- Report on configuration management key performance indicators.
- Support estimate generation.
- Ensure a flow of information on main issues addressed by engineering.
- You have a strong understanding of standard Thales configuration management processes and tools, particularly those linked with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
- You have a good knowledge of operational processes and methods, including bid and project management, engineering, production, and services.
- You have a solid understanding of system integration principles, including hardware and software.
- You are proficient in relevant tools, such as those related to Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
- You can adapt and assess the configuration management system and contractual and commercial requirements within your scope.
- You are familiar with Lean Management approaches and Agile principles for team management and development.
- You can manage complexity and thrive in changing environments.
- You have knowledge of hardware and software configuration management practices and tools.
- You can create buy-in and explain your needs and initiatives effectively.
- Previous experience with configuration management in defense, engineering, or MOD projects is highly desirable.
- Experience working with standards such as DEF Stan 00-057 or similar is highly desirable.
- This role requires full SC clearance, either current or the ability to gain full clearance is essential.
