One of Manchester's premier solicitors are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Financial Mis-Selling to lead our specialized team. This role offers a competitive salary of up to £60,000 and 24 days of annual leave.


The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, a deep understanding of financial mis-selling regulations, and a proven track record in managing high-volume caseloads.


Key Responsibilities:


Team Leadership and Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of solicitors and paralegals specializing in financial mis-selling cases.
  • Ensure the team meets its performance targets and maintains high standards of professional conduct and client service.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and continuous professional development of team members.


Case Management:

  • Manage a personal caseload of complex financial mis-selling cases from inception to resolution, including Plevin claims and other relevant financial mis-selling matters.
  • Supervise the team's caseload, providing guidance on case strategy, legal arguments, and procedural matters.
  • Conduct and oversee all types of hearings, including preliminary, directions, dispute resolution, and final hearings.


Client Relations:

  • Maintain and enhance client relationships through excellent communication, ensuring regular updates and managing expectations effectively.
  • Handle client consultations, provide legal advice, and take instructions as necessary.
  • Ensure all client interactions are in compliance with SRA regulations and company policies.


Regulatory Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure the team’s adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements and professional standards.
  • Monitor changes in financial mis-selling regulations and update team processes and training accordingly.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on team performance, case progress, and other relevant metrics to senior management.


Business Development:

  • Develop and implement strategies to grow the financial mis-selling department.
  • Formulate and maintain relationships with Claims Management Companies (CMCs) and litigation investors.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including potential claims and partnerships.


Litigation and Advocacy:

  • Utilize Counsel and Advocates to further strengthen the firm’s arguments and case strategies.
  • Prepare and review legal submissions, skeleton arguments, and other litigation documents.
  • Attend and represent clients at all levels of court, including appeals.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years PQE in financial mis-selling or a related field.
  • Extensive experience managing a high-volume caseload and leading a legal team.
  • Strong knowledge of financial mis-selling regulations, including Plevin and related claims.
  • Proven track record of successful case outcomes and client satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency in legal research and the use of case management software.
