Job Description

We are currently in search of an experienced Engineering Team Leader with expertise in the Certification of equipment for use in Potentially Explosive Environments with a focus on Intrinsic Safety protection concepts, to join our vibrant team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of engineers to ensure the successful delivery of intrinsic safety activities for various projects while meeting business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant intrinsic safety standards and regulations throughout certification projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that safety requirements are adequately addressed throughout the development process.
  • Provide technical leadership in intrinsic safety to support project teams.
  • Manage and mitigate risks associated with certification activities.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members on intrinsic safety concepts and practices.
  • Monitor and manage project timelines, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Qualification gained through higher education in an Engineering, Management, Business Administration, or related subject
  • Proven experience in an engineering leadership role.
  • Extensive knowledge of intrinsic safety standards and regulations.
  • Experience in the application of the Ex standards and the relevant testing protocols, and in applying professional judgement on compliance and the significance of non-compliance.
  • ATEX / IECEx / UKEx knowledge

Desirable

  • Experience in an engineering environment of drawing office practice, factory production and quality control methods or systems
  • General engineering background
  • Knowledge of how decisions impact business results, working with a diverse team and planning and thinking strategically.
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage employee performance using performance expectations and goals, and responding to employee relations issues.
