Maintenance Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Reed Engineering. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production machinery, rectifying mechanical faults, and performing regular maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily inspections of production machinery to ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, hygiene, and housekeeping standards.
  • Rectify mechanical faults, respond to breakdowns, and perform regular maintenance in line with the maintenance schedule.
  • Work within a team of Engineers to maintain equipment, aiming to minimize machine downtime.
  • Monitor records of all faults, fabricate parts, and maintain safety devices.
  • Support the installation of new machinery and collaborate with external contractors.
  • Test and inspect machines and equipment, working to eliminate production problems.
  • Carry out routine maintenance checks and report any issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with Production, Planning, Customer Services, and Warehousing teams to ensure targeted output.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects by providing technical input and expertise.
  • Maintain engineering documentation and assist with the upkeep of the engineering workshop.
