VAT Assistant Manager (Advisory Role)
  • Location: Hybrid Working

An established accounting, tax, and business advisory firm is seeking a VAT Assistant Manager to join their team. With a history spanning over 100 years, the firm is part of a global network, offering a range of specialist tax services. Day to Day Responsibilities:
  • Assist the VAT Director & VAT Manager with technical VAT advisory work.
  • Manage smaller VAT advisory queries and projects, aligning with skill set.
  • Advise and support the compliance team.
  • Provide support to the Tax Disputes & Resolution team on complex HMRC negotiations.
  • Contribute to VAT training within the firm.
  • Help develop and implement VAT marketing initiatives.
  • Build relationships within an international network to support and source new work.
  • Aid in the development of the VAT offering, targeting new sectors and technical VAT areas.
  • Quote and budget for VAT work and manage billing processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 1-5 years’ experience in providing VAT advice.
  • Knowledge in areas such as property development, construction, VAT inspection, and cross-border VAT rules is advantageous.
  • Personable, approachable, and keen to engage in marketing initiatives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and billing software.
  • University or professional qualifications in Accountancy, Law, or Tax are beneficial.
