Growth and Engagement Director

This is an exciting opportunity to join Children North East and work with us on our five year strategy. The Growth & Engagement Director is a critical strategic role, enabling Children North East to reach its strategic objectives to sustain, grow and increase the reach and impact of our services for babies, children, young people and their families across the North East of England. The Growth & Engagement Director will implement a strategy and programme of diverse income generation activities to accelerate the growth of income in line with our 5 year strategy to achieve long term sustainable income.
You will lead the Income Generation, Marketing and Communications function. You will be responsible for income generation including account management of one of our key donors and oversee donor relationships, unrestricted fundraising, restricted funding, marketing, communications and any commercial income. You will ensure that compliance of fundraising regulations is adhered to.
The successful candidate will lead their team to reach target and deliver on their ambitious plan. You will be able to inspire, motivate and coach a team to be innovative in their approach to income generation, marketing and communications.
The post holder will lead the team with:
Restricted fundraising, including funding applications, tenders and proposals.
Unrestricted fundraising, including online, events, donors and corporate supporters.
Commercial and trading growth and implementation of developing a retail presence, including establishing a shop/superstore and expanding the charities online shop.
Sales, including marketing and promoting the work that we sell including our training and nationally respected Poverty Proofing programme.
Marketing – ensuring our brand grows and is recognised across the North East.
Leveraging data to inform campaigns, and striving to build outstanding supporter stewardship, the Growth & Engagement Director will ensure the highest possible returns on investment in all of our fundraising, marketing and communications activities. The Growth & Engagement Director will develop partnerships and supporter relationships and build our public profile, to increase visibility and understanding of the important role Children North East plays in the lives of babies, children, young people and their families in the region and in turn generate increased support and income. The role will have oversight of the charities stakeholder mapping ensuring this is effective in relation to our strategic goals.
