Business Development Manager Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing business development strategies that aim to bring new customers on board
  • Reaching out to companies to identify their needs and to better understand how they operate and their overall objectives
  • Promoting and selling the range of products on offer, using your understanding of the customer to recommend the best products available
  • Maintaining regular contact with existing customers to identify further business opportunities and win new business
  • Following up with potential leads to successfully close sales over the phone
  • Tracking all sales activity, ensuring all activity and customer records are maintained and updated on the CRM
  • Working to and exceeding agreed new business and call targets, and meeting KPIs

Business Development Manager Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in sales and business development, and prior experience within the finance sector would be a distinct advantage
  • Possesses a track record of performing outbound calls and is confident making cold calls
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen to customer needs and foster professional work relationships
  • Computer literate with strong Microsoft Office skills, Salesforce experience would also be a distinct advantage
  • Highly motivated and results-orientated with a history of meeting and exceeding expectations and targets
  • Full of energy and enthusiasm with a can-do attitude and a desire to succeed
