Fixed Term until end of June 2026
Full Time (36 hours)
Wandsworth
Hybrid working: Depending on service needs, full time office working will be required to meet project demands, this will vary week to week. Typically, a minimum of 2 days office based, including every Wednesday, and the remaining days home working. This will include working in project spaces across the borough.
Are you a creative professional with experience of delivering large scale engagement projects with young people?
We are so excited that Wandsworth has been chosen by the Mayor of London to be London Borough of Culture 2025. We are planning an inspirational year of culture where every corner of Wandsworth comes alive in an explosion of creativity.
You can expect large scale dance events, a mass choral spectacular and a disability arts festival showcasing great artists from the borough, amongst many other things.
By sharing experiences and connecting, we believe culture has the power to make us all feel better. We want to start a movement across the Capital where everyone recognises that culture has the power to heal - a place where better health outcomes are achieved through the healing, inspirational power of culture and the arts.
About the role
As a Schools Engagement Officer you will work with the award-winning Arts & Culture Service to develop, deliver and monitor a range of ambitious cultural programmes for schools and families within London Borough of Culture. Your support will be crucial to the Cultural Programme Manager for Schools & Young People who you will report to and help to lead on these programmes.
You will work on large scale arts projects engaging schools and teachers. This will include performing arts showcases for school groups, art exhibitions for Primary Schools, the Wandsworth Heritage Festival, our creative CPD programme for teachers and managing portfolio funded projects to name a few.
Your role will be key to manage partnerships with schools while working closely with the Programme Office. As you will be looking after an arts and culture programme, some evening and weekend work will be required.
