About this role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our team as the Head of Culture and Heritage. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about connecting people with opportunities and delivering inclusive and sustainable services.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successfully leading culture, heritage, or creative programmes and will have a great understanding of the creative sector and its positive impact on residents' lives.

As part of our commitment to career development, internal applicants applying for this role will be provided with support on CVs/application and interviewing techniques.

The postholder will lead the culture and heritage service, which includes an Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation and several arts and heritage assets. We are currently in the final stages of consultation on a new Culture and Heritage Strategy, which will set out a clear vision for the service to 2030.

The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in public health and employment to ensure that opportunities in the sector can make real, positive change to many aspects of our residents' lives.
