Job Title: Chief Cultural Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Cultural Officer to join our team at Village Staff Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic commissioning of services that deliver against the priorities and outcomes of the Council in relation to culture, heritage, and tourism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of new, innovative, and creative cultural, heritage, and tourism projects that support the priorities and outcomes of the Council.
  • Take lead responsibility on the client side for the development and provision of efficient, effective, and customer-focused client services ensuring that the relevant providers are fulfilling their duties as part of their service level agreements to deliver cultural, heritage, and tourism services.
  • Deliver and develop the Council's corporate and community Events programme.
  • Lead on the implementation and delivery of the council's priorities in relation to events and take responsibility for achieving a commercial income from them, where possible.
  • Provide strategic guidance and advice to members and officers across the council and stakeholders on events and ensure that the Council discharges its statutory duties in respect of event planning.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of cultural, heritage, and tourism policies and practices.
