The role

As a Document Controller, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll have the chance to contribute to protecting the national security of the country and work in technology focused area of the business.

Day-to-day, you'll provide supervision, coordination, and management of documents within the Mission Systems business, providing configuration control and a centralised point of contact for communications within the team. The role supports the storage and management of commercial agreements; projects, technical and engineering documents; and bid information to ensure that record-keeping is maintained in accordance with governance and quality assurance processes.

  • Coordination and management of documents within the Effectors business unit ensuring archiving, storage and configuration control is maintained at all times.
  • Performing periodic audits on the projects to assure information and document integrity compliance.
  • Management of commercial agreements, bid, projects, and technical information relating to existing, future and historical contracts.
  • Coordination of the transfer of information from legacy to new DMS platforms.
  • Presentation and delivery of information in the form of reports and other formats for the purposes of communication.
  • Ensuring that the policies, procedures, and processes of the business are developed, maintained, and reviewed as appropriate to meeting quality assurance and contractual obligations.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2/3 days in the office/onsite and 2/3 days working from home based on manager agreement.

Essential experience of the Document Controller

  • Previous experience in Vault, Team Centre or equivalent DMS platform is essential.
  • Experience in data and document management roles.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and communication at all levels of business.
  • Understanding and adherence to configuration control.
  • IT literacy and experience in the Microsoft Office suite.

Qualifications for the Document Controller

  • Minimum GCSE standard English and Mathematics
