The role

Wealthify uses modern IT infrastructure, which is almost entirely cloud native – Entra ID, Microsoft InTune, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint & Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel. Our applications, technology platform and data are hosted in Microsoft Azure.


As a Cyber Security Engineer joining our IT & Engineering team, you will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer, and will be responsible for identifying, designing, advising on, and implementing security best practices across our estate. You will have a hands on role in implementing robust security controls to ensure our systems are resilient to cyber-attacks, preventative measures are put in place, and any incidents are minimised, managed, and understood to mitigate future occurrences. Experience within Azure, using tools such as InTune, Defender, and Sentinel are essential.


As a subsidiary of Aviva, we work closely with their CISO team, leveraging their knowledge and support, to ensure industry best practice is adhered to, and Wealthify has a robust cybersecurity posture that is appropriate for our size, risk appetite, and business.


Your role will also involve educating the wider teams (Engineer, Cloud, IT, and the business as a whole) on security, upskilling others, and nurturing a strong security culture in the wider business.

  • A strong understanding of cutting edge security tools, techniques and technologies, particularly in the Microsoft stack
  • Experience with the following technologies:

Microsoft Azure Cloud

Microsoft Defender (for Endpoint, Cloud, Identity etc.)

Microsoft Sentinel

Microsoft InTune

Cloudflare Zero Trust

  • Experience organising, scoping, coordinating, and responding to security tests and audits (e.g. External and Internal Penetration Tests, Red Team, Purple Team)
  • Experience designing and operating incident management processes
  • An understanding of Threat Hunting and Threat Intelligence
  • Effective communication skills and attention to detail
  • Good stakeholder relationship management
  • Self-motivation and willingness to learn
  • Advocate of best practice and a good understanding of security
  • Mentoring/coaching/team working
