Job description

Key Responsibilities:
� � �Strategic Engagement: Develop and implement strategies to increase Jersey�s influence and access in Europe, ensuring alignment with the Island�s objectives.
� � �Diplomatic Networking: Build and maintain a robust network of diplomatic contacts from our bases in Jersey, London, and Paris, enhancing Jersey�s presence in Europe.
� � �Cross-Government Collaboration: Work with colleagues across various government departments and arms-length bodies to support their European engagement, particularly in financial services and tax matters.
� � �Reputation Building: Enhance Jersey�s reputation and relationships with key decision-makers in European countries critical to Jersey�s interests.
� � �Coordination with Offices: Collaborate closely with the Jersey London Office (JLO), the Channel Islands Brussels Office (CIBO), and the Bureau des Isles Anglo-Normandes (BIAN) in Caen to ensure cohesive and coordinated efforts.

Person specification

Essential
� � �The post holder should hold an undergraduate degree (or equivalent)
� � �At least two years relevant experience in a policy making environment

Desirable
� � �Diplomacy and Networking: Proven experience in building and managing diplomatic relationships.
� � �Policy Expertise: Strong understanding of policy issues, particularly in financial services and taxation.
� � �Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively conveying Jersey�s interests to a variety of audiences.
� � �Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, coordinating with multiple stakeholders across different locations.
� � �Cultural Awareness: Deep understanding of European cultures and political landscapes.
� � �Languages: European language skills (particularly French) are highly desirable�

Benefits
