The apprenticeship

We�re seeking motivated self-starters to fill permanent roles.

You�ll have round-the-clock support from managers, coaches, fellow apprentices, and the Data Analyst community. With experienced mentors guiding your journey, you�ll master the latest best practices while forming meaningful connections.

With 20% time reserved for training, you�ll earn while progressing towards completion of an 18-24 month apprenticeship.

In this role you will:

You will work as part of the Government Digital and Data profession, working within a Digital & Data environment.Dive into the development of complex and high-profile analytical products.Collaborate with the business to unravel the mysteries of analytical work, ensuring we�re always on the same page.Manipulate multiple data-sets to analyse data and provide insights that will enlightenEnsure products meet our quality standards.Translate the tech talk into a language everyone can understand.Provide regular progress updates on your analysis, keeping people informed.

Person specification

Essential Criteria:

You should have the following:

Analysis and synthesis - show an awareness of the need for careful analysis of data to produce clear findings.Data visualisation � be able to use Excel or other software to merge, analyse, visualise, and consolidate data using pivot tables, functions, and charts.Data quality assurance, validation, and linkage - understands basic data issues and be able to check that the data and analysis look right.Communication � be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.IT and mathematics � be able to apply your knowledge and experience of IT and mathematical skills, including tools and techniques.Be comfortable learning to use new tools and large datasets.Be able to organise and prioritise your work.Be able to work collaboratively in a team.

Eligibility Criteria:

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

Valid passport/birth certificate and NI number
Must have lived in the UK and/or EEA for 3 years prior to apprenticeship start date
Not undertaking another apprenticeship or government funded qualification at the same time

You must also hold one of the following:

Level 3 qualification (apprenticeship/A-levels/BTEC, etc)
OR equivalent work experience (typically two years in a relevant role)
Plus:
5 GCSEs (or other equivalent), including English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above � or be willing to complete a level 2 English and Maths functional skills qualification.
Eligibility criteria is set by a 3rd party learning provider, not HMRC.

Benefits

Alongside your salary of �28,341, HM Revenue and Customs contributes �7,652 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.

HMRC operates both Flexible and Hybrid Working policies, allowing you to balance your work and personal commitments. We welcome applications from those who need to work a more flexible arrangement and will agree to requests where possible, considering our operational and customer service needs.

We offer a generous leave allowance, starting at 25 days and increasing by a day for every year of qualifying service up to a maximum of 30 days.
